Job Description: We seek an experienced and qualified Head Chef to organise the kitchen’s activities. You will be the first in command in the facilities and will create and inspect dishes before they arrive at the customers ensuring high quality and contentment.

Responsibilities: 

  • Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
  • Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings.
  • Approve dishes before they reach the customer
  • Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
  • Remedy any problems or defects
  • Be fully in charge of hiring, managing and training kitchen staff
  • Oversee the work of subordinates
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between coworkers

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as Head Chef and deep knowledge of Italian cuisine
  • Exceptional proven ability in kitchen management
  • Ability to divide responsibilities and monitor progress
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills
  • Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimised kitchen processes
  • Credentials in health and safety training

Al Volo is a modern Italian restaurant in Rufforth village, just outside York. We offer a contemporary approach to Italian cuisine but twist it a bit. We open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner in a private airfield with incredible views. Since opening on July 22, we promoted delightfully dished with seasonal ingredients, friendly service and an excellent guest experience. The location fits every month’s Special live music tribute events, accompanied by professional singers and a unique three-course set menu.

Position Requested: Waiter/Waitress

Job Description: We seek a professional and friendly Waiting Staff to join our team! Your main goal in this position should be to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction and provide an outstanding customer experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome customers and lead them to their seats
  • Introduce our menus and describe different dishes and drinks
  • Make recommendations on specialities
  • Take orders
  • Deliver orders to the table on time
  • Adhere to food, sanitary and safety standards
  • Inspect the quality and looks of the dishes, making sure they uphold standards
  • Identify and resolve any special requirements, wants and needs of customers
  • Deliver checks and accept payment
  • Collaborate closely with other staff members

Requirements and skills

  • Two years of experience as a wait staff or a similar role
  • Knowledge of cash register and any ordering information system
  • Guest oriented approach
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Patient problem solver
